Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Lawrence County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated here.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Lawrence County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained for the purpose of responding. We keep the message within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a page loads, including:

  • Page-view times and the pages visited
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • The device’s assigned IP address
  • Approximate time spent on each page

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show broad patterns such as which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics services combine this usage data for us. You may block cookies through browser controls, although doing so can change how some site features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected outside provider
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Maintain site availability and performance
  • Understand which material visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Lawrence County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Lawrence County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not used to create a consumer report or a criminal record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to data entered in those tools. We do not control those practices. Read the provider’s policy before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the Lawrence County Sheriff, Missouri courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow a link, the destination’s privacy terms govern the visit. Review them before providing personal data.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted ads. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold by us. It may be disclosed to:

  • Advertising networks that serve site ads
  • Search providers that process a query
  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for data under our control. No internet service can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Your location may give you added privacy or consumer rights. Missouri’s Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, and criminal-history dissemination rule in section 43.540 RSMo govern access to official government and repository records; they do not turn this private site into a government record custodian. You may ask us to:

  • Provide a copy of personal information held about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete personal information where applicable
  • Stop certain processing when a right to opt out applies
